

After graduating from Queens University Faculty of Medicine in 1984, and attaining his C.C.F.P in 1986, Dr. Friars has been in full-time family practice, which spans the clinical range from Obstetrics and Paediatrics to Geriatrics and hospital care. Acting as a Sport Medicine Doctor at the University of Guelph since 1989, he attained his diploma in Sport Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine in 1994.
Since that time, Dr. Friars has been actively involved in primary care, as well as working in a consulting capacity in Sports Medicine. Dr. Friars has worked as team physician for the Canadian National Wrestling team, the Guelph OHL Jr. A. Hockey team, the University of Guelph Football team, and the Toronto Argonaut Football Club. Since 1994, Dr. Friars has spent a significant percentage of his practice performing Independent Medical Evaluations and DAC assessments; going on to open Focus Assessments and Focus Workplace.
