Where are Focus Workplace Ltd services available?

Focus Workplace Ltd has offices in Kitchener and Ottawa. Services are available almost anywhere in the province of Ontario. We can deliver services in your place of employment, our offices or a number of available facilities throughout the province.

I am not sure how to deal with an employee health issue. How do I know what services I need?

A call or email to our Health Services Coordinator will provide you with guidance on how best to deal with your employee health issues. By telling us your challenges, we can help you select a solution that meets your needs.

I have a challenging return to work issue. I cannot get information from the employee’s doctor. How do I make decisions about this case?

A Focus Workplace Ltd Independent Medical Evaluation will provide you with answers to specific questions. This will help you make decisions on how to proceed with your case management. We will guide you through the process of getting an IME that provides useful information.

Do I need to do medical surveillance? How do I know if my employees are working in an environment that may be deemed hazardous?

An industrial hygiene assay will provide you with information about your levels of exposure to hazardous substances or conditions. Focus Workplace Ltd does not provide this service. We can offer you names of organizations that provide this service. Once you have this information, Focus Workplace Ltd can design a surveillance program that protects both your employees and your company.

My noise levels are above the threshold to require hearing tests. I have had tests done by a company that sends a hearing truck. Am I covered?

That depends! There are a couple of factors to consider. First, what do you do after you have identified that a problem exists. And second, do you have access to confidential employee health information that you are not entitled to see. Both of these factors may actually increase your risk. Focus Workplace Ltd can help you design a complete hearing conservation program that protects both the employee and the company.

I want to offer some wellness programs to my employees. There are many different programs available. How do I know what is right for my staff?

Focus Workplace Ltd offers a health risk assessment program that takes a snapshot of an individual’s health. This information is useful for the individual in that it points out potential areas of concern. The corporate report does not show any confidential employee health information. It does show aggregate information that points out areas where an investment in wellness will have the most impact.

Our health and safety committee does a great job with safety issues but is unsure what do to about health. Can you help?

Focus Workplace Ltd offers a service to help you create a Health and Wellness Strategic Plan. This service includes a review of your existing programs and documentation, a site visit and a report with recommendations on how to address health and wellness issues.

We are concerned about infectious diseases impacting our workforce. We recommend that our staff get flu shots but many don’t bother. What can we do?

Focus Workplace Ltd provides immunization programs for many infectious diseases. The most common is the flu shot. Many people do not bother to get their flu shot because it is inconvenient. By offering a Focus Workplace Ltd onsite flu shot clinic, you can make it easy for your staff to get their shot.
