CardioView – Health Risk Assessment is a health service program offered by Focus Workplace. The purpose is to provide an understanding of the modifiable risk factors of cardiovascular disease in a workforce population. There are benefits to both the individual and to the organization.
Employees participate on a voluntary basis. They complete a confidential medical questionnaire and undergo a brief examination (height, weight and measurements). A drop of blood is collected from a pinprick of the finger and analyzed using a specialized machine. All the data is entered into the Focus Workplace computer program. The results are compared to a database of findings from similar age/sex individuals from across North America. A personalized report is generated immediately and presents the findings in terms of “cardiac age”. Cardiac age may be more or less than chronological age based on lifestyle choices made by the individual. The report is presented to the employee in a one-on-one session. The employee has an opportunity to discuss the findings and, if necessary, discuss how to address items of concern.
We wanted to provide wellness programs for our employees. Focus Workplace helped us plan and implement programs that would have the most impact.
